The Mix Insect Bloc Goes to Timimoun
The Last few days I have been down in Timimoun, in Adrar Province, Algeria.
This historic town on the edge of the Gourara Depression and the Grand Erg Sahara has long been a stop over for travellers heading to Tamanrasset and further on.
Camel tours can be taken into the desert from here, and the town is still an important place for the Bedouin to replenish supplies before heading back into the desert.
For myself, it was a refreshing change to see palm trees instead of just sand dunes.
The Mix came in handy too, as sitting outside in the evening reading there were a few mozzies and biting things around just as it got dark. A quick covering of The Mix stopped them dead in their tracks. Very handy!
