The Trans Scotland MTB Challenge ,Glen Nevis, The Seven Staines and Skye
We have just had a great trip to Scotland for the start of The trans Scotland MTB Challenge and then riding in the 7 Staines, plus a trip up North to Glen Nevis, Fort William and Skye.
The trip on the ferry from Mallaig to Skye is awesome with views over to the Knoydart Hills.
OK, the weather was rough at times and sometimes too cold for midges, but when the midges appeared The Mix Insect bloc was deployed effectively, especially in Glen Nevis whilst we were barbecuing between rainstorms.
The biking at Fort William was great too, although the signs are missing at the moment as the cross country circuit is being redesigned for the World Cup in September. When the sun came out, then so did the midges!! Once again we were rescued by The Mix! It never ceases to amaze me how effective it is!!
We had a great trip, with beautiful scenery, good bike rides, as the weather was poor, we abandoned our attempt to cycle on Skye, however Glentress, Mabie and Fort William were good.
